Now, here’s more information on my journey to becoming a Juice Beauty Junkie:

For the past two years, I have been using Juice Beauty –– a rich, organic juice-based skin health regimen.

Most beauty products that use “organic” in their marketing use only a few organic ingredients in a water base, making the total organic content dilute and often less than 5%. Instead of the typical water base that cannot be certified “organic or pesticide free,” Juice Beauty puts over 100 USDA certified organic powerful ingredients into a 100% certified organic juice base (made from over 30 different juices) thus bringing the total organic content up to 98% in every product.

Over the years, I have seen the health of my skin improve, exponentially! Dark spots and discoloration fade, easily, and my skin looks and feels more supple. My new even tone and dewey appearance created a youthful look that doesn’t call for makeup to cover up imperfections.

Juice Beauty uses powerful ingredients such as alpha lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, DMAE, peptides, fat soluble Vitamin C and essential fatty acids for optimum results proven by clinical studies that have shown an 85% reduction in free radical skin cell damage (which means less wrinkles and sun spots!).

But, on the days I want to wear a little make-up, Juice Beauty has that, too! Wearing healthier cosmetics has, also, changed my face and how it behaves. My skin in not clogged or prone to breakouts with this line and it’s beautiful! The concealers, foundations, powders, glosses and balms are light, easy to apply, and easy to remove.

The Juice Beauty team continually searches the West Coast for the purest, most effective organic ingredients, including organic juices, aloe vera, honey, botanicals, plant oils, and raw cane sugar from farms that specialize in sustainable and organic farming.

These amazing formulations are made without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances.

All-in-all, for the past two years, Juice Beauty has made me feel and look beautiful without the use of harsh and unhealthy chemicals.

There is a difference between chemical beauty and organic beauty. Dump your drugstore or department store regimen and their poisons and treat your skin the way nature intended!

Enjoy your free gift from me and Juice Beauty, then, join the Society56 waiting list for a chance to become a member of my organic beauty community where we will have lots more from Juice Beauty!

You’re welcome,

Karrine

I tried out my new Juice Beauty Correcting Concealer and Perfecting Foundation last night and, I have to say, I really liked them!

The concealer, which I got as a free promotional item, is an Ivory shade –– paler than my skin tone. As far as coverage, it is quite light and I would suggest something a bit heavier for very dark spots. However, if you’re using a foundation and a powder, this concealer will do just fine.

Speaking of foundation, the Perfecting Foundation was amazing. I, also, got this as a promotion and found it to be weightless, easily blended, and added a natural bit of color. I am happy to replace my Mac foundation for this product.

Next up, I’ll have to order and try Juice Beauty’s powders, eyeshadows, and blushes!

For the past two years, I have been raving about Juice Beauty’s organic skin care line. In the coming weeks, I will be posting my facial care regiment and the products I use –– all of which are from Juice Beauty.

I just ordered some of the products I use, daily, and thought it would be helpful to share a few ordering tips.

These are the products I like, most, and the order in which I use them:

  • Blemish Clearing Cleanser
  • Hydrating Mist
  • Blemish Clearing Serum
  • Antioxidant Serum
  • Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer, Eye Treatment, Booster Serum (kit)

Here are a few more tips:

  • Visit Juice Beauty
  • Click on ‘Web Specials’ in the home page’s footer to check for the latest deals
  • Continue to shop around the site
  • Before you’re ready to check out, open a new tab and visit Retail Me Not
  • At Retail Me Not, search for additional Juice Beauty deals
  • When/if you find a coupon code you’d like to use, enter it during the checkout process at Juice Beauty

When my package arrives, I’ll post an update on these products and how I utilize them.

Stay tuned!

To all of my Too Faced lovers, this one is for you!

Say hello to their newest palette…Summer Eye.

This fabulous collection includes fun pops of summer color in coral, pink and aqua complimented with beachy neutrals and seductive shimmery browns. With this wide shade range, you can easily shift from a playful beach day babe into a sultry seductive summertime smoky look for cozy bonfires and moonlit dinners with your summer fling. (TooFaced.com)

I have always been a Too Faced fan. Their eyeshadows are highly pigmented and last all day long. This palette is great because it adds a little hint of color with nude tones.

  • Sugar Sand:  shimmery dusty rose
  • Plumeria: vivid pink
  • Cocoa Beach: plum brown shimmer
  • Peach Fuzz: shimmer golden peach
  • Coral Crush: shimmer coral pink with fine gold glitter
  • Chocolate Sun: shimmer brown with gold glitter
  • Sunbeam: pale gold shimmer
  • Mermaid: muted teal
  • Toasted Coconut: matte carmel color (only matte color)

It comes with three cards with ideas on color combinations but, once you get comfortable with the colors, you can create your own looks.

I love this palette. It is perfect for spring and summer!

Retails for $36 at TooFaced.com

Here is a fun way to store your makeup compacts:

I tend to forget about some of the individual eye shadows or blushes because they are, usually, tucked away in my little makeup organizer.
I ventured off to Jo-Ann Fabric and bought a few things. I made this Compact Organizer for under $20.
What you will need:

  • Picture frame (any size)
  • Fabric of your choice. I used damask. Depending on the size of the frame, 1/2 a yard should be plenty.
  • Ribbon remnants
  • Hot glue gun
  • Velcro
**Optional:  Rhinestones or embellishments of your choice
  • Step 1: Wrap the fabric around the glass or cardboard backing of the picture frame. Adhere it with the hot glue.
  • Step 2: Add ribbon and apply it in a criss-cross or diamond design.
  • Step 3: Add embellishments/rhinestones
  • Step 4: I used velcro strips that already had an adhesive backing but. If you cannot find self-adhesive velcro, you can hot glue the velcro to the fabric. Naturally, you will need to do the same for the compact.
Waaaa-Laaaaa! Cute right? That took me about 10 mins to make.
  • Frame $7.99
  • Fabric $3.50
  • Ribbon $1.99
  • Velcro $1.99
  • TOTAL $15.44

Who doesn’t love fabulous nails?

Better yet…

Who doesn’t love nails that only cost $10 and look super cute?
These are a quick and easy, yet, effective way to get really cute nails without sitting in a salon for two hours.
How does 10 mins sound, ladies?

Awesome, huh?

Sally Hansen Salon Effects is a nail polish adhesive. No drying time involved! Please excuse my out-of-season Frankenstein look, but this design was 50% off at Ulta!
And who doesn’t love a sale?
Here’s how I did it:
  • Use a base coat so they adhere better
  • Find the right strip size for each finger
  • Peel
  • Stick
And SHAAA-ZAAAAM! Perfect nails!
After I apply the adhesive strips, I like to use a top coat to make them last longer and help stop chipping.
The great thing about these is that, every season, Sally Hansen releases different designs and colors so you can always switch it up!
  • Purchase at most drug stores (CVS, Wal-greens, Rite Aid) or ULTA
  • Retail $9.99
*Look out for sales. I have seen them, quite often, on a ‘buy one get one’ sale or 50% off…
…just like these Halloween ones.
Don’t judge me!

Welcome to the world of Mac Mineral Skin Finish! Beauty junkies just call it MSF.

This bad boy is called Gold Deposit.

This product is amazing and serves several purposes. You can use it as a blush, highlighter, or even eye shadow. Either way, it is a gorgeous addition to your arsenal of spring and summer must haves.

It does a great job of capturing the sunlight and giving you a bronzed look.

One thing I would not recommend is using it as an all over beauty powder;  you’ll just end up looking like you’ve just emerged a kindergarten art class.

But, if used properly, it can achieve an amazing look on all skin tones.

MSF Gold Deposit retails for $29 at all Mac counters.

So, my usual nail tech, Hannah at AQ Nail Spa in Studio City, was on vacation for three weeks.

Three weeks!

So, some dude did my nails and only felt comfortable putting damn acrylic on them.

Hated it.

Hate it for three weeks.

Then, Hannah called and said she was back in town. So, I ripped off those nasty acrylics, jumped in my car, and rushed down to the shop.

After, I emerged with my usual –– a colored French tip with a design on my ring finger –– this time, lady bug for good luck!

My morning and evening facial routine, using Juice Beauty.

How to make a messy chignon…

MERSEA DEAD SEA: Mineral Shea Butter Vanilla Coconut
So, my husband brought home this lotion during the time we were blending our households. He said something about bringing it from Paris and how amazing it is.
I scoffed and clung tightly to my palmer’s CoCo Butter.
He opened it.
He used it.
I smelled it.
I looked at his moisturized skin.
I dipped my fingers into this thick, creamy pool of awesomeness and extracted a palmful. I lathered – no– luxuriated in it.
I ordered it from Israel.
Seriously.
Israel.
I will never use another body moisturizer, ever. I spent just over $30.00 for three 11.8oz containers. It took a couple of weeks to get to me but this is so worth it. I promise you.

Don’t laugh and don’t lie…

You have that annoying peach fuzz of your face, too! Well, I saw a commercial for this product by Olay and picked it up at my local CVS.

I thought it was a wee bit overpriced at over $23.00, but I guess that’s the price we pay for…beauty?

My husband took this photo of me in the kitchen as I pranced around with the hair removal cream covering my…beard?

Don’t laugh.

Anyway, I think this cream works pretty well, though it had a hard time removing those annoying sideburn hairs.

Don’t fucking laugh!

This is just a weaker form of your everyday depilatory, like Nair, which I use (very carefully) on my bikini zone. It did the job, though I couldn’t keep it on my face as long as the directions recommended. My face began to itch a bit and I had flashbacks of that scene in Malcolm X when his relaxer started burning just as the water got turned off and he ended up having to rinse his hair in the toilet.

So, I guess I would recommend this product, overall. Happy hair removal!
