My mind is blown.
I was in the mood for Baklava and had been for weeks. Still, I could never seem to make enough time to grab some, fresh from a baker who specializes in this Greek roll of sinful goodness and honey sweet decadence.
Dammit!
But wait…
What’s this?
While perusing the frozen food section for some sort of quick, bake-able desert, I came across friggin’ frozen Baklava!
Now, I was skeptical, naturally, but I just had to take a chance. Plus, it was a store brand, so I was really, really, really skeptical.
But, I digress.
For about $9 for 9 pieces, it was a steal. We brought it home, let it defrost for about 30 minutes then…
POW!
BANG!
BOOM!
Orgasm.
It wasn’t as good as fresh, of course, but on a scale of one to ten, I would give this frozen version of one of my favorite treats an 8.
So good, in fact, I had one for breakfast.
Grilled Pound Cake ala Mode:
This is a super simple cheater’s recipe.
- Cut pound cake into slices.
- Brown in frying pan with melted butter.
- Serve with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
Done! Now, if you’d like to make this recipe from scratch, more power to you. Tonight just isn’t the night…Enjoy!
I’d been craving these for a while. The TV commercials were taunting me — turning me out!
Finally, I stopped by Baskin Robbins and picked up these little Ice Cream Cake Bites and was mortified to find that just five of these little bites are $9.99! I could’ve gotten a whole pint of ice cream for that price!
But, I didn’t.
I got the Bites.
The cake is kinda blah and they are super sweet, but that’s not going to stop me from crushing the f*ck out of these little ice cream cakes!
For the first time in my life, I can’t stop gaining weight!
See, I eat when I’m happy and I am certain this is the happiest I’ve ever been; AKA: this is the fattest I’ve ever been.
Even directly after giving birth, I was only 140 pounds.
I am, now, 145 pounds.
Anyway, I’m going to finish this box of cookies and try to start working out in the morning.
I swear.
Yo…
You know those little almond cookies they give you at the Asian restaurant when they bring you your check?
They come in boxes.
I crushed these shits.
DINNER & DESSERT
Here are a few cuts of steak –– San Lucas Ribeyes. I seasoned them with a bit of seasoned salt, pepper, garlic and Mrs. Dash.
Yes, Mrs. Dash.
I seared the cuts in a tiny bit of olive oil and butter. These are fairly thin cuts, so I only seared them for about 45 seconds on each side.
Once the steak finished, I grilled the onions in the left over juice and seasoning in the pan.
The potatoes are Yukon Gold and, simply, boiled. The green beans are steamed.
Simple and good!
After, I had a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream with Swiss Almonds by Haagen-Dazs and a slice of my famous white cake with cream cheese icing –– homemade. See the recipe here.
And, that’s it!
I can do it all. Everything.
You guys can expect another picture of my ass in the near future.
You know a man likes you when he brings you flowers and pies. Everyday.
I’ve been finding it difficult to get away from my responsibilities long enough to blog. This may not look like a work day to you, but the above photo is exactly what a work day looks like to me.
Well, back to work!
PS: Those peach colored balls are mango Mochi balls. Get some…
THE END.
